Paley’s “Design Argument”

The piece you have is a small excerpt from a large book, but the excerpt lays out the argument fairly clearly. However, it isn’t so easy to boil the several pages of text to a short summary. Such a summary will necessarily leave out some details, but ideally what we’d like is to present the central ideas of the argument as perspicuously as possible.

Try to figure out what the conclusion is and how, exactly, the reasons are supposed to support that conclusion. To bring to class: Write a short summary (3-6 sentences) of Paley’s argument (just a regular paragraph, not standard form).
